pulsed fusion reactor | |||||||||||||||||
How about a pulsed fusion reactor using liquid hydrogen or liquid helium. Bonus points for resonant pressure wave. Hey I almost sound like I know what I'm talking about.

I don't know much about it either but an awful lot of very bright people and a good deal of money has been thrown at the problem and I have serious doubts about a simple obvious solution.
all attempts already use hydroge, as it is the easiest element to fuse, but a pulse reactor is not a good idea, the current problem is sustaining fusion, all energy is input to create the initial reaction, you need to sustain it to get back more than you put in, you need sustained fusion, not pulses.
