I have several small cloth containers and a sort of briefcase which have shoulder straps but they kept slipping off my shoulder in inopportune moments until I stapled a ribbon of hooks from the hook and eye ribbons of a piece of velcro to the inner surface of the strap with the hooks facing the side that touched my shoulder. That stopped the slipping to a large extent.
