Why not have a retractable clear barrier between the front and back seats like in taxi cabs? Most trips people make are either alone or with one other person in the car, yet the heater or AC has to heat or cool the entire car. Having a glass or plastic barrier could hold separate the air so that the front seat could be temperature controlled quicker and with less energy
