You ever lost your remote? Yeah, I know, it's such a headache!

My idea is to have a locator on the remote that would beep when you pushed a button on the tv. Like calling a lost cell phone, and letting it ring until you find it. The beeping would stop when you pushed a button on the remote.

It could even work for the universal programmable remotes you buy when you don't have the tv's original remote. You could have a button that comes with the remote that you stick onto the tv, and when you misplace it, you push the button, and viola! Remote found.

Why bother with a TV? The cell phone is becoming a universal possession so why not have the finder signal originate with the cell phone? If responders can be miniaturized sufficiently to the size of a RFID dot they could be made universal to many things and regularly incorporated into many objects.

This is a good idea, but it's been suggested here before, here, and here, and here, and here. People really should learn to try using the "Idea/Topic Search" gadget over there on the left side of the screen before they post a "new" idea. I don't mean to discourage you from posting; it's just that people repost ideas here all the time.
