Endangered plants and our highways, endangered plants could be planted in the medians and shoulder of our highway network. Example Pine trees in South Florida were decimated by Hurricane Andrew. Pine cones were collected but the habitat is limited. Planting the trees on the highways could help to ensure enough land for the pines to survive in.

And also provide huge accident problems when a major crash hits the trees.
This might be safer if you planted smaller plants, but if you create nice habitats in the middle of the highway, it will attract a lot of wild animals, which will get hit by cars.
