Software Folding Contest | |||||||||||||||||
I had a long, detailed description here that was thoughful and well-written. Since this is my first post and I am unfamiliar with the interface, I clicked "back" and lost it. Here is the run-down. 1) Folding (protein/DNA) contest that allows users to optimize and re-engineer code so that it will run faster and on different architectures. 2) Before users are permitted to use such code, each changed module must undergo static code analysis for that particular architecture/environment. Any modules with changes in the compiled binary files must be registered in the administrating systems. A module is only registered if it is verified to produce correct results for a given set of input tests within some acceptable statistical margin of error. An unregistered module cannot compete (whether it is replaced with the original binary module or omitted entirely is up to the contestant, but you cannot compete with an unregistered module). Has this been done already?
