flashing center brake light

I think the center brake light should flash red as opposed to just coming on solid. It should flash as if the driver was pumping the brake.

I don't quite understand why you'd want this? It would have to co-exist with millions of cars that don't, so I think this would only be confusing.

How would you know that the driver wasn't actually pumping the brake? I want to know if the guy in front of me is pumping the brake or just leaning on it. If he's pumping it, I don't need to slow down as fast. The flashing light might fool me into thinking that he's slowing more gradually than he really is.
