Lamp cylinder with letters | |||||||||||||||||
To produce a lamp with a cylinder where on the surface are opaq letters. Everybody could change his letters and they will reflect as a shadow on the wall.

If the lamp is a point source or close to it you might get a decent shadow image. The larger the generating light source the fuzzier the shadow.
Sand is right. You also need to make the letters backwards if you want the shadows to read forwards.
