Many times, when I'm drilling several holes in line to create a slot when the holes are joined I would like a combination reamer tool to merely make the slot by pressing the spinning drill bit in the direction of the enlargement. If the spiral fluting on the bit straightened out into a fluting with a protruding cutting edge merely by pushing the bit deeper in the hole to access the reaming area would make the slot extension easier.
