Many people like to take whisk(e)y with water, or on the rocks. What water do they use, as water itself or to use to make the ice? From the tap, of course! From the tap??How can you adulterate that wonderful elixir with plain tap water?

But what water should you use?

The answer: the water with which the whisk(e)y was originally made of course - the same water from that magic spring.

Why don't the whisk(e)y companies sell twin packs - the real stuff and the real water to go with it? After all, they own the water, and they own the bottling plant too...

Here in scotland, they use the tap water, but my tap water is a little whiskey coloured from the peat, so its the same makeup as my good single malts.

The idea is brilliant, just its an issue i'm sure of weight of water/whiskey/price. Likely for doubling the weight of the package, the price would only go up by 1 dollar or two... whereas only whiskey is 10+ per bottle. Perhaps its something that should be offered at the store, rather than the distillery... then no need to ship peat water from scotland...

Or perhaps theres a market for "highland peat water" of the proper taste to water down whiskey, ice, or accompanyment... i think i'll go donwstairs and start a business with my kitchen tap... :-)

The whole bottled water business is a scam on a par with pet rocks and empty cans of Texas air. Analyses have indicated that bottled water is no more pure or tasty than normal tap water and, of course, rather pricey.

This is a ingenious idea. Promote the water as free. Now lets think of a way to include the ice and a glass.

Just what we need--more bottled water--using up more of our limited oil transporting it across the country--just use tap water--if you get your water from one of the stores despensers or the small buildings about 6 feet square you are getting the same water just filtered plus all the germs from kids touching the tubes after such things as picking nose, stratching their caboose, not washing hands after going--MMMMMMM must add flavor to the city water!!!! I always wanted to know why dogs prefer to drink out of toilets Now I know--the flavor MMMMMMMMMMMM GGGGGGGGOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDD
