Why cant McDonalds Breakfast’s be available all day. I would love to have a Sausage and Egg McMuffin for lunch but it is not available.

the simplicity of this idea is mind boggling, I mean why nobody though about that before, or just wait a minute....maybe somebody did. Diners anybody?
I'm voting "for"!
I guess this has got something to do with the unfair dynamics of supply & demand. McD's knows there's a good demand for the "Breakfast" meals - hence, they've tied it down to a certain "breakfast period" - this way, they get to ramp up sales for the early hours of the day.
Moreover, I suppose from a fast-food standpoint, it would be more efficient to focus on just a few key items - hence, adding the breakfast items to the McValue meals during lunch would be a nightmare to handle.
Would be nice to get some official feedback from someone in McD's. Ronald, are you with us? :P
I'd feel even better if the breakfast was not 50% packaging... it strikes me waste of paper, plastic and whatnot in those breakfasts... as once myself a macdonalds employee, training people to serve breakfast is for the breakfast shift. It is mostly a training issue, as the kitchen is set up to serve breakfast, and then all that stuff is put away.
I worked at McDonalds for 3 1/2 years. We only had a certain amount of space in the warming bins. Also, the temperature setting on the grill that they cook eggs on is much cooler than the hamburger setting. Last but not least, there are times when it's difficult to keep up with cooking the hamburgers much less the eggs.
I always thought this was a good idea, but because of Lethbridge's appalling failure of judgement, I now have to view his whole suggestion with greatest suspicion.
I refer, of course, to his preference for muffin over biscuit as complement to egg and sausage, a violation of fundamental aesthetic principle that may actually indicate a deep moral failing. Any reasonable person understands that the biscuits are way better than the muffins. Hard to imagine a good idea can possibly come from someone who doesn't take this view.
why can't big macs be available all day -- even in the morning?
I completely agree. I've been saying this for like 12 years now. I want my breakfast, even if it's late. lol That's basically the only thing I eat at McDonalds.
Well, Jack In The Box already lets you do that... I've been out late at night (around 9:00PM at night) with friends and noticed my friend actually order a breakfast item, since the breakfast menu is on a different menu off to the side rather than other fast food restaurants on the same billboard that is simply slid over after say... 10:30 AM.
Excellent idea though; I'd hate it if you were ready for a breakfast and you can't order at 10:31 AM... Other than that, the only reason I'd go to McDonald's is when I'm in a rush and don't have the time for the "we don't make it until you order it" policy.
Oh Lord, the muffin beats the biscuit hands-down... and the McMuffin is some sort of holy mutation and hybrid of Mc and Muffin that is a blessing from above. All praise the McMuffin-- and huzzah to the idea of being able to eat it all day long.
Actually they already do in Hong Kong - all day long...so there is a precedent
Yeah, I'd like the opposite, actually, I'd like them to be able to serve whatever I feel like eating at that moment whether it be breakfast OR lunch. I'm a night owl and mcdonalds stats serving breakfast in my city at 3:30am and I can't enjoy a juicy burger and fries.... We also have Whataburger with this concept which is my alternative if I want a burger after 3:30 in the morning.
Why couldn't just sale healthy food all the time.

Your wish has come true
Stop eating McDonalds all together. I guarantee the pros will outweigh the cons.
I work nights MY "Breakfast" is at 5PM. It would have been nice to have my sausage McGriddle and a cup of coffie. Several times at 6AM my "Dinner" McDonalds would lose my business to Jack inthe Box because I wanted a burger.
You would think everyone else would have jumped quickly on this after Jack-in-the-box made their breakfast available all day.
The problem with breakfast all-hours at MCD is simple (and prob simple to fix): their kitchen is not set up to cook the 10 or so different breakfast food items AND the lunch/dinner menu at the same time. Their menu board definitely isn't. So they do it in other countries; all kitchens and stores are not created equal however. They could do it though, but there needs to be significant customer demand.
if it was available all day, then you wouldn't want it. macca's excel in psychology
