Why a refrigerator door handle is at the left side ?( as you face it)thus it has to be opened by right hand , leaving left hand free for work; i.e; for taking out or putting in any thing inside. As majority of population in the world is right handed, why this handle is not at right side so that you can open by left hand , keeping right hand free, thus making the handling easy? Any clarification ?

What sand's link probably says is that every refrigerator made in the last ump-teen years has had a reversible hinge and handle, you can put them on either side.

Often right handed people reach for the door with their right hand, hence the handle on the left. Right handers are the clear majority in the world.
