we may hav a chance to forget the name dt how we saved it in our mobile's contactlist and even we may hav a hint about the last 2 or 3 numbers in our conciouc.so we can use tis reverse search algorithm..(ie) if 72 strikes in ur mind as the last two then we can search like "%%%%%%%%72"or his lastname is starts with f (steven fleming)then we can srch lik "fl****".and this ill display like (steven fleming-058764846)

This type of functionality already exists in many contexts. It's called the "wild card" operator, often denoted by a *
so, on many databases, if you're not sure how to spell something,you can enter an asterisk instead of the letters you're not sure of.
For example
mis*pelled
If you're not sure that this word has one S or two, then enter the wildcard and the system will search for both.
Most systems won't let you start a word with the wildcard though - so that's the only unique part of your idea.
