Refrigerators that use outside cold air in winter to keep contents cold and only operate the ac unit when outside temperatures are not cold enough. A vent to the outside could be located in the freezer compartment and the other cold storage compartment could use vents that partially open depending on how cold you want the compartment all operated using sensors. Ovens that share their heat with clothes dryers and vice versa. Dryers connected to house thermostats which either vent outside to keep a home cool or vent inside to keep a home warm. It just seems to me a little silly that in extremely cold weather outside I use power keep my food (beer) cold. Why not use the outside environment to our benefit. If we could reduce power consumption for every fridge in the areas of the country that get winter how much could that save. Heat collectors on sunny days give heat to your dryer/home.

It is standard here in Finland to have an exterior vent in a wall cabinet in the kitchen for cooling in the winter. It has been so for a very long time.
It's a small world and not too many new ideas.
