I have had the same problem but the experience of getting my tender parts ensnared by an unexpectedly enthusiastic zip mechanism might discourage me from this solution. Perhaps a beeper activated when the zip is open might work but then there is the problem of shutting it off when you disrobe. Not impossible to solve but a nuisance.

In my mind it would be far more embarrassing to walk out of a rest room with the wet spot that resulted from prematurely releasing the elastic loaded zipper regardless of whether or not it caught my private parts.

Just practice your snappy comebacks for "The barn door is open. . . " and it seems to me that there is no real embarrassment involved anyway.

I don't about women, but for men this would be a big nuisance when trying to pee. If you could design a mechanism that would only pull up the zipper after the button on the waistband is fastened, then it might be okay.
