I have no idea why no one has thought of this...

the phone companies always make a phone and its the same, a phone everyone has the same ones its kinda sad. why cant we go online and choose what color, type, texture (bumpy, rubber things that stick out..etc), what the names are(like instead of contacts do homies..etc) and that kind of stuff and have a huge variety and then they make them custom for everyone and everyone will have a different cell phone. the price depends on the texture and type like a red flip phone it would be x and if you wanted a red flip phone with rubber bumps it would be x+y..etcI hope i made sense if not just rate me badlyI know its probably hard to make a different phone for everyone but maybe just charge extra for a custom phonelet me know what you think

Different people have different ways to get excited over trivialities. As for me, I just want a cell phone to keep in contact because public phone booths are a nuisance and disappearing. I don't give a damn what the thing looks like as long as it works and is not too expensive. But that's just me.

your right, screw my idea it sucks....

actually bilodeau, your idea is great, but it's pretty much what's already happening. Years ago when I bought a Qualcom phone--the size of my home phone, it only came in black. Then phones started coming with 'skins' so you could establish your individualism. Now most phones come in five colors. As for variation in 'bumpiness', that's just harder to do, so it's less likely to be a cost effective way to customize. To do this, you'll need interchangable parts, like the 'skins' phones used to have. Most people will sacrifice skins to have a more compact phone. I would.

The verbaige used to operate a phone has to be easily understood,so I think that is why you don't see 'contacts' called 'homies'---I'm sure it would be an easy software thing to offer user customization, but I think so few people would use it, that it isn't worth the designer's money.

thanks, this skin is sweet i would deffinatly have a cool textured skin if i could find one for my phone. and for the software idea i talked to some people about it and they said that would be awsome to customize it any way you want...who knows maybe we will see it in the future.
