Remote Control Finder | |||||||||||||||||
TV should be equiped with a remote control finder button. You always know where is your TV, but your remote control easily get lost, under the sofa, in the kitchen, under books, etc... We should be able to go to the TV and press a buttom which would activate a small light and/or a bell on the remote control. It would be much easier and faster to find the remote control.

Great idea !!
good idea.. I would also turn that TV screen into a simple radar-like screen to show a general location of the remote control, relative to the TV. This way, if the remote is buried under the sofa, we can still follow the graphic display to retrieve it.
I only voted against this because it already exists. My TV has one and it's awesome.
Great idea. Cranor, what brand and model of TV do you have.
Cranor, what is the brand and model of the TV you have that has the remote control finder, and where did you purchase it?
Thanks in advance,
Jauron
I've got a suggestion for Jauron - something along the lines of use your brain first esp when the sites called ' why not'....
I already made a better one years ago. My Mum became ill and ever after used to pick things up & put them down in random places. It's hard enough to find the remote normally but this situation was the mother of invention. I Simply bought one of those key-rings with the whistle-and-beep responce and hacked the innards out of it. Then soldered them inside the remote casing (which was quite a big Grundig unit and had the same battery voltage).Problem solved. Cant't find the remote? Just whistle for it!
What about one you could buy to add onto your exsisting set? I have not seen a set with this as std. Just stick one bit on the TV/VCR/DVD/etc and the other on the remote. Wired in somehow or with some sort of power source.
I have cursed at tv manufacturers for years about this. Everytime I lose the stupid thing I rant about this. The same companies that have no problem putting this feature on their cordless phones neglect to do this with the remotes for their TVs.
There is existing products like this one: http://www.loc8tor.com/index.asp
this one might not be the best one for a remote but you should look around
