How many times have we looked for something to clean the dirt/dust off of our EyeGlasses/Shades. You have to buy the cleaning sachets at a store. Even if you buy it, you forget to take it with you, or misplace it.It would be really nice if someone can invent something which will clean it automatically - maybe nanotechnology can help here!

I love this idea! I've worn glasses for a quarter of a century and I just tried and failed at switching to contact lenses. The cleaning of glasses is my biggest pain. I have purchased pre-moistened glass cleaning wipes from Lenscrafters, but you're right that if you forget them then you have to go searching. Self-cleaning glasses would be fabulous.

The people at activeglass might be thinking aboutthis, but you might have to go outside for a while.Outdoor breaks aren't just for smokers anymore! :)

A lot of optician shops sell a pre-treated cloth for cleaning eye glasses with. The cloth is very cheap - the optician normally gives it away to customers purchasing new glasses. Fits in your glass case.

It works a wonder! You don't wet it or add any solution to the cloth at all. Just wipe your glasses - that's all. You can even wash the cloth in the washing machine if you want. I have been using the same cloth for just under a year now and it works great!!

Opticians use plain alcohol to clean eyeglasses. I use alcohol prep pads that I buy in the pharmacy. They are small pads in individual foil packs like a 'wash n dri', and are meant for using to cleanse the skin before an injection. A box of 100 only costs approx $2.00. Very convenient while you're waiting for the self-cleaning eyeglasses to be invented!

Lots of things would be great if they were self-cleaning, but we'll have to jump a lot of tecnological hurdles before one could ask nanotech to wave its magic wand and fix it. Submit this one again in about thirty years.
