When I tried to register with this group I never received my temporary password at my Hotmail address and I had to try several unsuccessful attempts to finally give up. I had to establish a new e-mail address before I finally became successful at entering the group. It would be helpful if there was some way of communicating before registering with whomever is supervising the group so that I could explain and perhaps remedy my difficulty in registering.

There is a link at the bottom of the home page to my email address, with the note "for technical concerns please contact Lokani24".

I had the exact same problem with my Hotmail address. The automated system seems to be imcompatible with Hotmail.

I believe I know why this is happening. The other day I got a spam from sender: 'Why Not' subject: enlarge something (except a little bit more crudely).

I realize now that I have seen spam with the phrase "Why Not" before, and these are probably now being widely screened. I'm not sure what can be done about this, given that 'Why Not' is the name of this website.

Many major email providers apparently have the whynot domain spamlisted because years ago (before this site existed), some spammer had falsified their return address as XXX@whynot. I've contacted the AOL, Hotmail and Netscape webmasters requesting to be removed from their spamlist, but it seems we still encounter problems on occasion.

I had the same problem (aol user). Although the confirmation email did not even show up in my spam filter folder. And to the above comment from someone who says there is a tech support email at the bottom of the home page -- I am sorry, I am just not seeing it.

I have a mail system that I can use or not use to designate spam and when it's on with any given domain there is an EXCEPTION window where I can place the address of anyone who falls within that group that I want to except. This is Cox in California. Does your ISP which is what I'm using, have such a feature?
