photochromatic windscreens | |||||||||||||||||
why not have car windscreens made from glass that darkens the brighter the sunshine? tinted glass is ok, but its not dark enough in direct sunlight hence the need to wear shades. the rate of tinting would need to be fast enough for times when you drive from a bright stretch of road into a tunnel, but my glasses change their degree of shade fast, and it would save a lot of accidents where driveers are momentarily dazzled.

Yeah, but what happens when, on a sunny day, you drive into a tunnel?
I have the same problem with my Transition lenses in my glasses. It's great when I go outside and they tint, but when I come back in from lunch everyone is saying "Hey Joe Cool!" because the tint takes a few minutes to fade away.
Have it active, using the same technology as an LCD display.
