Many parents purchase cell phones for their children, especially daughters as an extra safety device. So they can be reached in time of need. But could cell phones be even more of a protective device than they are now?

I think we've all seen those little personal defense zappers. They use a simple 9-volt battery, drop the amperage and up the voltage to like 90,000volts.

Well, the battery of cell phones is much more advanced than those old alkaline 9-volts. I imagine it would be too hard to turn a cell phone unit into a "shocking" personal defense weapon. Such could also be setup so as to trigger a direct call to 9-11 and pass location. (Such behavior would discourage it's use as anything other than a personal defense.)
