The rear view mirror can be dimmed against head lights, why not have the side mirrors dim as well for night time driving?

go drive a BMW 5 series....all mirrors dim! the side mirrors also adjust downward when you go into reverse for parking...all done already, just costs money and only avail in expensive cars...btw...BMw 5 Series is a fav car!

I like this idea. I was thinking about this as I drive to work in the early morning. I can dim my rear view mirror but not the side view mirror. Vehicles lights can be bright and annoying reflecting off the side mirror. For those who can't afford a BMW I'm envisioning something that could be attached to the inside of the door. A scroll like screen that could be lifted up and attached to the window when needed and then retracted when not needed.
