Auto Book Retriever | |||||||||||||||||
Similar to the way tape silos work in a computer room, why not have a robotic device for books in a library that will retrieve a book based on request (submitted by computer, as most libraries have computers). Idea can be extrapolated to other uses as well.

Such a system already exists.
The downside: the Northridge earthquake zeroed the computer index, and no one knew where any of the books were.
I think that would be a great idea
