Your at the gym and you have forgotten what weight you were using for a particular exercise. Here is the solution. You insert your card (magnetic strip type) into a card reader located on the weight machine itself (could be a treadmill). Although this could be a pre-set pin number. The machine automatically selects the desired weight according to your preprogrammed training schedule. You perform your sets. The weight machine monitors and records your workout, sending a report to you (via email or a website) showing your progress and areas for improvement. Such a system offers a level of feedback and precision heretofore unseen.

I have seen a Life Cycle system that controlled the weight by computer (both pushing out and back). That existed in the late nineties. Shouldn't be that hard to connect the machines to a central computer. The computer could also suggest the percent increase in weight per week. Great idea!

Such kind of machines already exist. Technogym.com produce them (ie. Biostrength® Line).
