OK, most people probably saw Minority Report with Tom Cruise. As he walks through a mall his eye is scanned and customized advertising is sent to him.

Well, we now have directional sound beams in real life. Why not advertise to people as they trudge through the parking lot to get into malls, shopping centers, etc. You could have a device on the lightposts that scan for movement in the parking lot, "locks on" to the moving person and directs a beam of sound to them the comes in at a reasonable level. It could alert them to deals going on at the time. A way for center owners to develop a new revenue stream.

I'm not really in favor of MORE advertising, but I occasionally hear about a special and take advantage of it.

Now, overlay cell-phone signal coordinates with a previous history of purchases database WITH direction sound advertising and Speilberg's vision is here now.
