Cement Snowmen/Snow-women. The problem with snowmen is that they only last a short time. Sure, they bring you joy, but for how long?

If they were made of cement, you could pick one up at a road-side stand with the bird-baths, and have it for the rest of your life. Less effort, less stress, the snowman would bring joy to generations of families instead of lasting just for an afternoon.

I thought of this idea when I was younger and have always wanted to make it happen. Now, I offer my brilliance to humanity.

Go Cement Snowman, Go!

Happy New Year, everyone!

The joy of having snowmen is in the making it, at an effort of personal sculpture. A machine made mass produced snowman defeats the basic conception, is like those garden gnomes and flamingoes which are obvious kitch. The process might be aided by having inexpensive blow-molded molds into which snow might be packed to make faces and hands which could be attached to the rest of the structure. And the facial features can be modified from the molded standard for a personal touch. But they are a sign of the season and disappear to my relief so that newer original efforts can be attempted.

Let's take for a moment the measurements of a snowman:2' dia. base: 4.19 ft31.5' dia. body: 1.77 ft31' dia. head: 0.52 ft3

-- Total volume: 6.48 ft3

Assuming a weight of 95 lbs/ft3 for cement, we get a final weight of over 600 lbs(nearly 280 kg!)

I think that about takes care of it. Got a forklift?

Other than that, good luck!

Reminds me of the famous concrete cows in Milton Keynes.

A good idea.

How about inviting all the people you dislike and have a cement snowball fight with them???? Just joking

It would need to be hollow and made of the same lightweight material that garden gnomes are made of.
