Why can't I just carry one card that has all my credit and debit card information on it?

I could set it up to use my accounts in a priority order. Like, "use Visa first if accepted, if not then American Express" or I could simply tell the clerk which account to put it on.

It seems like this should be an easy one. Maybe this is a service a credit card company could provide, so that they could get their accounts high on the customer's priority list.

YES! And online access to one website with tabs for each of your bank/credit card/investment accounts. How annoying is it to carry 20 different cards and keep track of so many usernames and passwords!?

I think that this is not a very well thought out idea because if someone stole your credit card you would be pretty screwed.

The idea of one 'thing' to keep all credit, debit AND loyalty card info is a good one. (How about social security and driver license info too?) I have a key chain fob that has a chip in it to pay for gas and direct my loyalty points toward my chosen account. Perhaps there's a way of doing it this way. Beats the concept I heard of about putting a chip in the finger -- but only slightly!

p.s. I voted nay, then yea, as I realized my idea countered the original concept proposed.
