Combining pizza delivery and choosing a movie into one business by incorporating the internet to handle placing orders for pizza's and movies to be delivered to the customers residence. Continuous inventory can allow online users to view movie availability. On-line customers could view the menu for both pizza and movies. Incorporate reviews, ratings, and availability into the site.

One of my college room-mates had almost this exact same idea - except that he thought beer (and Harold's Chicken, I believe) should also be included on the menu. It sounded like a good idea to me then; i'm surprised nobody has ever tried it.
Good idea! this should really work in the winter,let some guy fool with the traffic and snow and cold,It would be worth a couple extra bucks to me
Some friends and I came up with this idea in college. I think to make it work, you'd have to limit the available selection of movies (like Redbox). I'm kind of surprised that Dominos or Papa Johns hasn't tried this yet. They could kick off the new venture with a free movie with a pizza deal and then the next one's $2 and include a free mail-back envelope (perhaps they get mailed to a local sorting facility where they are redistributed to the pizza places). In fact, this could work as a partner effort. Someone could start Pizzaflix, a company that manages all the titles and distribution, so that the pizza places rent the movies from Pizzaflix and then the pizza places rent the movies to customers via their website and customers mail back the movies to the Pizzaflix sorting facility where they get redistributed to pizza delivery places. By partnering with multiple pizza franchises this could be a viable business- if Netflix did this, they could offer unlimited free movies delivered (with pizza) for Netflix subscription customers while poaching some of Redbox's market share (people who don't want to sign-up for the subscription can just get one at a time). On the other hand I belive that downloadable/streaming media is definitely the way to go (especially considering the cost of maintaining and sorting all that physical media stock) what with this wave of internet-connected televisions coming out. I don't think DVDs or BR will be rented in a couple of years. Customers will either buy a DVD/BR or rent/stream a digital version.
