Waffles have the possibility of being made in various shapes. If a waffle iron were designed to produce cups about the size of small cupcakes, the waffle itself can be made in various flavors including spices and other substances such as cocoa and sugar so that sweet puddings or ice cream or varius fruit and perhaps liquor or wine gels could be served in them. For main dishes, the waffle cups could have hot spices to be served with rice and vegetables and various meats, depending upon the imagination of the cook. A normal waffle iron size could produce four or five cups at a time.

With the right kind of batter, you could make edible bowls for soup as well.
This is how the ice cream cone was invented 100 years ago. Someone made a waffle in the shape of a cone and put ice cream in it. Later the cone became harder than a standard waffle. And later someone had the idea of making an ice cream cone in the shape of a cup.
I am aware of the evolution of the ice cream cone. My suggestion would merely extend the concept to other foods and put the manufacture in the hands of the consumer.
What about pita cones? Wraps seem to dribble out the endand waffles imply a sweet (desert) batter.
Waffle batter is essentially egg, flour, milk and a small quantity of baking soda.Sugar or spices or any other flavoring may be added for various final tastes.
