Anyone who has seen Karate Kid 1 (don’t worry about the sequels) can appreciate how much good Karate has done for the world. Instead of learning ancient history which will benefit no one people should be learning Karate.

It not only teaches self respect but all those brains mean nothing if your going to get stabbed by a mugger it the city on your way to university. Their parents would say "Damn if only he knew a few rolls and defense moves he'd still be alive and because of that irreversible vasectomy and my ovaries which have been destroyed by mobile phone radiation we wont have any more kids to continue our heritage."

Teach karate to kids early and they'll live long and productive lives.

I am very curious about the effect of karate on vasectomies and mobile phone radiation.

Martial arts should indeed be more accessible to children. Childhood obesity rates are skyrocketing, and karate is a good workout. Karate teaches kids to think before they act, to consider many different scenarios. It teaches patience, and focus. Karate is a lot like Ritalin, except participants are left with a colorful belt instead of a chemical dependency.

At most, you'd make Martial Arts as part of a phys-ed program.

Phys Ed is already cramed enough with essential skills like rope climbing and dodgeball!
